Hi, If you have another look at the walkthrough again, in the tunnel where the ender chest is there is now the button in replacement. These tunnels have changed now but the layout is the same, and you can see they are both on the same level and right in front of each other but the button is under the escalators where the only entrances are from the platforms and upstairs.
I would definitely like to add the idea of dropping the player on the track and then dying, I could build a track located under the tester so once opened up players will fall and see a track and hit it. Thank you.
Hey, sorry for my tragic response time - you could do with a hole in the tester roof if you really wanted but if you didn’t want the tester to be assaulted too badly you could always keep it only with glass between the tester roof and the button! You don’t have to think too hard about this point as we might make a final decision about it during testing though
Hey! No worries. I’m afraid I am miss understanding, if the button was on top of the tester I would include the roof but the button is in the tunnel system which is opposite the tester. I hope I am explaining it right, it is not on top of the tester. I’d understand any final decisions during your testing! Just want to try understand haha I do not know if my brain is just being slow.
Oh! Haha don’t worry that’s my bad not yours, I for some reason had the idea that the button was directly above tester. I think the biggest priority if you want to trap the tester would be to make sure that the tester can be seen from wherever you choose to put the trap button! If you want to move where the button is that’s also okay, and it would also be okay to choose for your trap to affect another location on the map in view of the button! If you’re unsure at all and you’d otherwise like to leave all decisions about traps to us, that’s also okay!
Hi! I think where the button is atm would be seeable as there can be a small slab hole in the grey middle part of the escalator which would give direct eye sight to the tester. I am open to any ideas if while testing the map you find a better approach! I’d just like if it’s possible to have the idea of the trap opening and making you fall onto train tracks and dying. I will add the train track element under the tester, likely tomorrow.
Hello everyone! I have now implemented the final changes to the map before submitting it for testing. I have included the train tracks under the tester, the tester’s floor will open and the player will fall down and hit tracks that are inside a tunnel for a train. This player will die on impact to the track.
A couple other changes have been added! We have added a small ledge by the ender chest on the train allowing players to get on there and now be able to access the ender chest from this area too through a window. As the tracks will be deadly this could allow players to push eachother off early but also allow players to get back onto the platform for safety quite quick too.
We have added a coffee shop logo with banners, fountain in the middle as well as a complete revamp to a previously added ticketing area. This arena still includes an elevator connecting downstairs to allow for another escape point and entrance to the main area of the map.
Unfortunately, the idea of opening the escalators to include a slab which is where the button was going to be underneath in the tunnel is not possible anymore, this reason alone we are open to any suggestions the team and council may have to add! The trap is implemented but please add the button whereever you believe is appropiate for the map.
