Here are 7 new TIMV role ideas that could either fit into the existing Twilight in Mineville event or have its own separate event, individually or collectively.
New innocent role:
Pheonix
After getting killed by a player, the phoenix gets revived after 30 seconds with half health.
Death by void/Fall damage/traitor trap etc. won’t get you revived.
Enderman
When your health falls below 50%, you get teleported to your spawn point once (The spawn point is where you first appear before warmup start).
Old man
Spawn with 2 hp (1 heart)
Only Innocents and Detective know who the old man is.
If Old man survives the round, they gain +40 karma and remaining innocents/detectives gain +10 karma.
Camper
Similar to Survivor role in Twilight in Mineville event, purpose is to just survive and wait throughout the game.
They gain +5 Karma per 30 seconds duration.
60 seconds warm-up period doesn’t count.
New detective role:
Champion
Spawn with a golden sword that allows you to one shot traitors.
However, if you hit an innocent/fellow detective with a golden sword, both of you die instantly.
New traitor role:
Shaman
Allows you to revive fallen traitor once.
Right click dead traitor body with a golden apple to reincarnate them.
Ghost
Visible to fellow traitors but invisible to the rest
Once ghost takes their first hit, they will become visible to all.
I don’t think it’s feasible or realistic to have an entirely new event based only on these roles, so I’m going to talk about them as if they were additions to twilight
Phoenix seems okay but 30 seconds is pretty long in the context of a TIMV game. I’d maybe do 10s + something to indicate the Phoenix is being revived
Enderman also seems fine
both these roles have the problem of “oh you were going to kill me but I have plot armour, now I kos you” which might annoy some ppl? but I think it’s fine personally
Old Man is kind of an interesting but unfortunately the optimal way to play is the same as survivor where you just hide until the game ends. the traitors have no tools to find random hiding innos and frankly there’s no incentive at all because most TIMV players are nice and would let that guy live so everyone gets +10. maybe there’s a way to make this idea work though?
also the name is kinda odd and not twilight-y at all, surely Mayor or King would make more sense
Camper is a survivor copy but it also encourages stalling if they’re the last inno alive. Majorly dislike this
Champion is also just too OP when traitors are already at a disadvantage in games. It would feel very unfair to play against and just frustrate traitors. Majorly dislike this
Shaman is nice
Ghost is prob the coolest role idea here. actually I had an idea once about a traitor role that could you let you turn invis for 5s or something, but the way you’ve described it might be a cooler implementation
oh nevermind I just realised your implementation of Ghost might not work
say for example you’re at an ender chest with a bunch of other people. suddenly they see you go invisible when the game starts. at that point they just KNOW you’re the Ghost
I would suggest going invis being an activated ability to get around this
I thought about potentially having them as separate event to avoid adding on to the already packed Twilight event and it would make the event achievements more difficult to get. But Ig it doesn’t hurt too much to keep adding.
Now regarding your feedback on the roles:
Pheonix: I feel like reviving after only 10 seconds kind of takes away the element of surprise since lesser people know that you’re dead (if traitor doesn’t id the body) but ig I wouldn’t mind. And yes, there should definitely be a message when phoenix is revived. Also, I would like to point out that killing phoenix the first time should not reveal to the killer or anybody that IDs them that they are phoenix.
Old man: Yea, you’re right I think most people would treat this as a survivor role since you have like 1 heart and “King” would be a more suitable name for the role. I would say make it so that everybody knows who the king is (wears a golden helmet) but the king has all 10 hearts (that doesn’t regen). Traitor would get like +30 karma from killing him. Other than that, rest stays the same. I want to make it so people will crowd around the king to protect him rather than the king hiding in a corner to win.
Camper: I feel like it’s a role that everybody wants (just like survivor role) and the fact that you can still gain karma regardless of how many people are killed is nice to have. As more roles are added to Twilight event, the chance of becoming survivor role is lesser. So, adding this kind of gives people more chance to grind on karma (especially those bad at pvp).
Champion: Yes, if you know what you are doing, it can be too OP. I think I’ll make it so that the golden sword breaks after only one kill. If not, I think it’s a pretty cool item that should be added into detective shop for 2 role points (only once per game).
Ghost: Lol I forgot that roles are only reveals after the 1min warmup. My solution would be either the ghost disappear after a certain amount of time after the game starts, or it only disappear at every nighttime cycle if it is added to Twilight in Mineville. I guess having an item that activates it anytime would be cool too, but I just don’t like having extra items in your inventory since you can drop it, accidentally right click it and idk… I just prefer a cleaner hotbar.
