A replay system is coming to Trouble in Mineville!
How does it work?
All Trouble in Mineville games are recorded and stored for a finite period of time.
Moderators can then watch a faithful recreation of the original game, complete with game events.
Can I report someone without recording?
We’re planning to roll out support for the replay system in three phases:
- Phase 1 (active now): Replays will be used to get a second perspective on video evidence. We won’t accept game logs as sole evidence for non-chat punishments in Trouble in Mineville.
- Phase 2 (Estimated: Mid September): Replays/game logs can be used as evidence for Trouble in Mineville reports and punishments, but video evidence is still accepted.
- Phase 3 (Estimated: Oct 2024): Replays/game logs are the only type of evidence accepted for Trouble in Mineville reports and punishments.
Adjusting our policies for RDM
We understand that when the replay system is fully implemented it will become much easier to send reports.
We want to make it clear that this will not increase your chances of getting punished for accidents, genuine mistakes, or messing around with friends within the bounds of the rules. We’re updating our policies with this in mind.
Our goal with the replay system is to make the game experience better by making it easier to understand context, which also reduces the number of false punishments.
Can I watch my own replays?
We’re planning for the replay system to only be a moderation tool in its first stage. If we see enough demand, we might make it public so players can watch their own replays!
Select players will receive a survey in the lobby to gather feedback on this.
When will this come to other games?
We’re working on adding the replay system to our other games as well. The next game modes planned are Cowboys and Indians and Bed Wars, in that order.
